Doula Services

Doula is an ancient Greek word which in current times represents "a woman who is experienced in childbirth and provides advice, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth"

I became a Doula in 1995 and have since assisted in hundreds of childbirths. I understand that a birth experience is one of the most important events of your life, and my priority as a doula is to be there as an advocate for all your needs while preserving your memories of the experience at the same time. My goal is to make sure you have the best birth experience possible, in all circumstances.

As your Doula, I'll meet with you three times before your due date to understand exactly how you want your birth experience to go and to share my experience with you. Then I'll be there for you from start to finsih during the birth, as a calming and comforting guide. I'll also act as your advocate with the medical staff and keep your partner and family comfortable, up to date, and as involved as you want them to be. After the birth I'll have a follow-up visit with you and your newborn to make sure you're both doing well and to help you with any questions you may have.
